
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, accompanied by her spouse, has arrived in Phnom Penh for a two-day official visit to Cambodia. The trip, held at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Manet, coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two neighboring countries.
The Thai delegation includes Deputy Prime Ministers Suriya Jungrungreangkit and Anutin Charnvirakul, along with Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, Labor Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn,, and Natural Resources and Environment Minister Chalermchai Sri-on. During the visit, Paetongtarn will attend a formal welcome ceremony and hold bilateral talks with her Cambodian counterpart.
The two government leaders will jointly unveil an emblem commemorating 75 years of diplomatic ties and witness the signing of several cooperation agreements. These are expected to cover a range of areas, including trade, security, development, and regional coordination.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn will also pay courtesy calls on senior Cambodian officials, including Senate President Hun Sen, National Assembly President Khuon Sudary, and His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni.
This trip is Prime Minister Paetongtarn’s first official visit to Cambodia since taking office. Discussions are expected to focus on expanding cross-border collaboration, strengthening economic links, and supporting shared regional goals in Southeast Asia. (NNT)
