Prime Minister calls on all sectors to work together to stimulate tourism, which could drive income into the country.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed confidence in Thailand’s negotiation team in addressing the U.S. “Trump-style” tariff policy, stating that the team is fully committed to its responsibilities. She emphasized that many issues still need to be clarified and discussed, and that the team’s role is to foster mutual understanding and push all matters forward effectively.

When asked whether a date for negotiations with the United States had been set, the Prime Minister declined to answer, saying only that she would look into it later. At the time, she was attending an event at the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and jokingly questioned why no one was asking about tourism.

She then shifted focus to the importance of reviving the tourism sector, particularly during the upcoming Songkran festival. She called on all sectors to work together to stimulate tourism, which could drive income into the country. Small businesses, SMEs, and hotel operators are already preparing to meet tourist demand. She urged everyone to help make April a vibrant and attractive month for tourism once again, affirming that both she and the government are committed to supporting these efforts. (TNA)
