Young artists take part
in ceramics painting contest
Narisa Nitikarn
Young people skilled in the art of ceramic painting are
competing in a contest for the Princess Siribhachudhabhorn Cup and the
opportunity to win scholarships worth over 30,000 baht.

Presiding over the opening of the competition at Central
Festival Plaza on November 5 were Chanyuth Hengtrakul, Member of Parliament
for Chonburi Zone 6, Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh, and Sarun Tuntijumnun,
shopping center general manager of Central Pattana Pcl.
Competitors in the fifth annual Eastern Youth Ceramic
Painting Championship are vying for the Her Royal Highness Princess
Siribhachudhabhorn Cup and scholarships worth over 30,000 baht. Taking part
are primary and secondary school students from the Eastern Seaboard area of
Thailand. The competition will continue throughout November and the final
result will be announced on December 17.

5 for the Her Royal Highness Princess Siribhachudhabhorn Cup and

Sarun said that this competition had been planned so that
secondary school students throughout the region could show off their ceramic
painting ability. The Central Festival Center Pattaya administrators wished
to emphasize on tourism promotion and nature preservation so the theme of
the competition was chosen as Pattaya sea preservation. The contest, said
Sarun, represents an excellent opportunity for students to use their time
constructively and to improve their painting and drawing skills at the same
time.
Some of the painted ceramics will be used to decorate the
first floor in front of the public relations center at Central Festival
Center, and some will be sent to Burapha University to adorn their
educational buildings.
Duc-Panudet Wattanasuchat, a professional actor,
presented a lecture and gave a demonstration of technical drawing and the
use of basic colors. He was presented with a ceramic signed by the event’s
three presidents as a souvenir. There was also a show by Nantana Studio. Two
actress guests, Nong Focus-Focus Jeerakul from the film “Fan Chan”, and
Claudia Chakraphan, also joined in by painting ceramics.
Charity Club of Pattaya takes children to Khao Kheow Open Zoo
Thanks to Marlowe’s prize
Christina Boden
The Charity Club of Pattaya approached Marlowe of Massic
Travel (the friendliest travel agent on the eastern seaboard!) for a prize
for their October charity event. As he didn’t know what to give, they
suggested that he sponsor the children to a day at the zoo, which he was
more than happy to do.

appreciation for sponsoring 31 children and 6 caregivers from the Camillian
Center to a trip to Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
The Charity Club then arranged everything with Georgina
from the Camillian Center. On Saturday November 12 bright and early the 31
children and 6 caregivers arrived at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo. The children
were enthralled with the animals and went from one animal to the other
feeding them and petting them, oblivious to the baking sun.
The
children were enthralled with the animals.
Christina & Malcolm Boden represented the Charity
Club and Massic Travel, but the children had much more energy than them and
they were last seen skulking back to the car for some air con and a much
needed rest!
A big thank you to Marlowe of Massic Travel from all the energetic
children at the Camillian Center!

with the Education Ministry to choose deserving students who lack funds,
and provided 1,850 grants at 3,000 baht per grant at a total of 5,550,000.
Big C provides most of the funding, and some has come from customers who
have made donations at the boxes located in Big C Supercenters.
