Clubs

Pattaya International Ladies Club will hold their next Coffee Morning, Tuesday 19th March, 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the Lower Terrace, Starz Diner, Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya on 2nd Road.

The Rayong Ladies Circle have planned a trip to the sapphire mines in Chantaburi on Monday March 25th. For information contact Khun Tiew at 01 644 4432.

Education

AUA would like to thank the local community of Pattaya for their wonderful response to the opening of our new school in the Pattaya Bazaar. In less than two months of operation, AUA have already had over three hundred and twenty students register for English language courses. To accommodate the many inquiries for daytime classes, AUA are running three (three week) Summer Courses. These courses are scheduled to run their next course from March 25 - April 11. Events

The German Thai Chamber of Commerce’s next ‘Stammtisch’ is now on Friday, March 15, at Henry J Beans Bar & Grill. All are welcome, and one does not have to be a member to join this informal networking event. Bring your spouse along and enjoy a relaxed evening from 6.00 p.m. onwards.

The Australian Thai Chamber of Commerce will hold another Seaboard Sundowners sponsored by Technology Training Co., Ltd./Swinburne Tummasiri - LCSE, on Friday, 15th March, 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. at the Pattaya Marriott Resort and Spa. The Seaboard Sundowners is an opportunity for members and guests of AustCham Thailand to meet, network and exchange views in the social, casual environment. There is also a Volunteer English Teaching Program at Ban Khao Huai Mahad School, Ban Chang, Rayong on Saturday March 16. The Chamber will provide transport to and from the school. It’s St. Patrick’s weekend at Shenanigans Pattaya. There will be live music from a “Roving Band of Minstrels” on Saturday 16th night and Sunday 17th daytime (with a break for the Grand Prix Formula One race at 2 p.m.). There will also be wandering magicians, jugglers & comedians to keep everybody entertained. For every drink bought customers will receive a ticket for the lucky draw, with prizes from Guinness & Heineken drawn every fifteen minutes, and the chance to vote for your favorite member of staff in the 4th Annual Miss St. Patrick’s Day, the winner receiving a gold chain, presented at midnight. Then it’s the customers’ turn with the staff voting for the best dressed green customer, who will receive a bottle of Champagne. There will be free green vodka jelly shots and bar snacks served all weekend. Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Fun for all the family this Saturday March 16th at The Horseshoe Point Riding Academy with a Cowboys and Cowgirls Day. The fun begins from 1 p.m. though to 5 p.m. Plenty of games, trial riding a best dressed contest. Make you reservations now on 038 735 050 ext. 4016-8. Dancing on the Beach this week at the ‘Amazing Thai Wisdom Fair’, now in its 4th week. A free for all dance frenzy on the beach in front of the Royal Garden Plaza with demonstrations and variations of ballroom dancing. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Dance fever begins from 7 p.m. onwards.

Entertainment

Where is the only Elvis Show in Pattaya? At The Elvis Pub of course! See Thailand’s only Western Elvis tribute artist ‘Ritchie Newton’ with his fantastic show from Wednesday till Saturday and this Sunday March 17th see Manuel Presley, from Radio City Patpong Bkk perform his famous rendition of Elvis, then on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th Jareuk Virikiat performs his ‘3 in One Show’ featuring music from Elvis, Tom Jones and Englbert. So put on your ‘Blue Suede shoes’ and drop by the Elvis Pub, Pattaya 2nd Road opposite Big C Super Center.

The Moon River Pub of the Thai Garden Resort finally shows its colours with their new bandColours”. This newly formed group is put together of some members of the famous band “Island Soul” from Trinidad and 2 Filipinos from Manila. Don’t miss the Moon River Pub, to listen to the sounds of “Colours” and let yourself get carried away by their charms and soul.

Renoir’s Restaurant in the Flamingo Hotel, Soi Day Night 2, will have a very special “One-Man-Show” & Dinner on the 23rd & 24th March. There are two separate evenings: on Saturday it will be for an English-speaking audience, and on Sunday it will be performed in Dutch (NL). Apart from a very special 4-course gourmet style dinner, there will be a show during the dinner titled “Letter from Vincent”, where Vincent van Gogh, in his own words, talks about his brother Theo, the women he loved and his mental illness. He speaks of his drawings and paintings and above all, his search for happiness. Slides of his drawings and paintings will be projected; the play is further enhanced with music from Wagner, Beethoven, Berlioz and Grieg. This show has attracted great appreciation around the world and is now, for a very limited time, in Pattaya.
