Excitement Mounts for the ‘St Andrews Cyclo Dash and Children’s Fair’

Don’t forget to pencil February 10th in to your diary! The annual ‘St. Andrews Cyclo Dash & Children’s Fair’, an event for the whole community, is to be held on February 10. It promises to be a wonderful day out for the whole family again this year, as there will be something there for everyone to enjoy.

Training together - students and teachers getting ready for the Cyclo Dash

All the profits from this event will go directly to the Camillian Center in Rayong. St. Andrews hopes that they will be able to raise a substantial amount of money to go towards supplying medicine for the children in the Center. The Camillian Center currently has 19 children that are infected with the HIV virus.

Children from all over Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard are already getting very excited about the bouncy castle and pony rides that they will be able to enjoy all day long. The ‘Children’s Fair’ will also include the following great favorites: face painting; hair braiding; batik making; transfer tattoos; jewellery making stalls; ‘Beat the Goalie’; and ‘Soak the teacher!’

The Shenanigans Beer Tent and Amari Pasta Stall will no doubt be a popular choice for the adults! Several amazing Thai handicraft stalls will provide a great shopping opportunity! Many wonderful raffle prizes have been donated - the star prize is a 25 inch colour television which has been kindly donated by The Jesters and the T.Q.2 Bar - and the raffles tickets are currently on sale.

Have we got to the finish line yet?

The Jesters will be on site all day and their Harley Davidsons will be parked in a prominent position for everyone to view.

Entry in to the fair is 20 baht for adults and free for children. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and finishes at 4:00 p.m.

Many entrants in to the ‘Cyclo Dash’ have already begun their training in earnest! This event, a cross-country biathlon, starts with an 8:00 a.m. registration. The races themselves will start at 9:00 a.m. This event will take place around the school campus as well as the off road challenges of Green Valley. Mountain bikes will definitely be the order of the day!

Bayer and Foster Wheeler have sponsored the t-shirts for this event and all entrants will receive a free t-shirt. Gold, silver and bronze medals, sponsored by Bayer, will be awarded to the winners in each category.
