Minister of Education Chinnaworn Boonyakiat (4th
right) recently presided over the workshop session on ‘Public-Private
Partnerships in Education’ organized by the OEC, Office of the Permanent
Secretary, under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, the
Association of Private Schools of Thailand and particularly the World Bank
at the Amari Watergate Bangkok. Annette Dixon (Center), country
director of the World Bank, and Amares Sila-on (3rd
right) were among the organizing committee.
In Richmond Stylish Hotel in Nonthaburi a special award
ceremony of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace took place for
IPSP Ambassador at large Dr. Tae Sul Kim from Korea. Upon this
auspicious day Dr. Kim received the Volunteer Call to Service Award from US
President Barack Obama, which has been given to him upon intervention of
IPSP Members in the USA. Dr. Kim is very well-known world-wide for his “Free
Rice for the Poor Programme” which was the reason for his receiving the
prestigious US Award. Guests of honor from Thailand were, among many others,
Pol. Major General Likhit Klinual, Major General Vibool Pakamas and Major
General Visut Kirdgriangboon.
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya recently visited the
Fountain of Life Center to provide dental check-ups for children at the
center as part of the ‘Good dental for the society’ program, in celebration
of the 20th anniversary of the hospital. Dr. Saracha Chuesamran leads the
team where 60 students received free dental check-ups and lectures were
provided to encourage clean and healthy teeth.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and U Yong, managing director of
Haier Electrical Appliances (Thailand), along with members of Pattaya
City Council, preside over the opening ceremony of the Haier Service Center
in Pattaya to provide after sales services to Haier customers.
