Events
The next meeting of the Lighthouse Club will take place
on Friday, July 2 at the newly opened 5-star Centara Grand Mirage Hotel on
Wong-Amart Beach (Zulu-bar). The evening, sponsored by Iguana Group, runs
from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will extend into a great World-Cup
live-football night (quarter-finals), starting at 9 p.m. presented on a
big-screen with English commentary. (During the World-Cup quarter-finals:
Ice-cold beer only THB 65 courtesy of the Zulu-Bar!) Entrance fee for all

On the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday, the
Amari Orchid Pattaya, in conjunction with the Royal Project and Central
Center Pattaya, proudly present the world’s longest Passion Fruit Sacher
Cake at 78 meters (fresh passion fruit from the Royal Project). This event
will be held at Central Center Pattaya, from August 11-15. There will also
be a product exhibition by the Royal Project, exciting stage shows performed

The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will be
holding their July Luncheon at the Grappa Italian Restaurant located at the
Woodlands Resort in Naklua on Tuesday, July 6. If you plan on attending,

than Saturday, July 3. The PILC will also be holding their annual Holiday
Bazaar at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Pattaya on Saturday, October 2. This
event gives PILC members and the public a chance to meet up, either sell or
buy an array of goods from silverware, to jewelry, to local handicrafts, to
food and wine, and to help the PILC collect money to support the local

The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will
be on Sunday, July 4. Everyone is warmly welcome. The Club meets every
Sunday morning at The Tavern by the Sea (formerly Henry J. Bean’s) located
on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The
program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from
9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting speaker to
talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. This week,
Barry Kenyon will be providing the latest information from Thai Immigration
and the Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting. The program is
followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where questions
are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an update on

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand
have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the
telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates
24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate
community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will
provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of
