Thai Airways International Public Company Limited’s three most celebrated former senior executives met recently at the airline’s head office to swap stories about the ‘Golden Years’ when they were among those most directly responsible for the dynamic growth and success of Thailand’s national airline. With a total of over 94 years of THAI experience between them, there were many memories to share, of challenges met and overcome, with achievements recalled during this occasion of the airline’s 50th anniversary year. (L-R) Capt. Chusak Bhachaiyud, who joined THAI as a student pilot in 1960, rising to become Senior Vice President in charge of development of the airline’s massive Technical Department. Senator Chatrachai Bunya-Ananta started with THAI in 1971 as deputy director of marketing and went on to become president, while Capt. Jothin Pamon-Montri who also joined as a student pilot in 1960, was promoted to captain flying wide-body jets for the airline and climbed the ladder to become senior vice president in charge of ground handling operations.
