REBA – ES comes of age at August meeting

Members of the board of Directors of the REBA – ES reported to the group at their August gathering about the very positive results from a meeting that they had with the REBA Thailand board of directors held at Top Broker Realty in Bangkok on August 5. The meeting was a lengthy one discussing the current and future partnership between the two groups.
It was announced that REBA Thailand has recognized that REBA - ES is a fully formed legal entity with its own board and governed by a comprehensive set of rules and regulations. They agreed that it is time that REBA - ES operated on its own without the necessity of reporting to REBA Thailand. As a part of this it was decided that REBA - ES would design and introduce its own logo, membership forms, certificates and ID cards and be responsible for its own recruitment of new members.
The REBA Thailand board of directors were very complimentary about the benefits that REBA - ES gives to its members.
There was a great deal of discussion about how REBA - ES could improve the services that are provided for members that included whether training would be possible in Pattaya and whether that training could be expanded to include foreign students in addition to Thai.
The Public relations committee then pointed out that due to commitments from other organizations, the charity event scheduled for September 11 will need to be postponed until October. The date is still to be fixed so please keep an eye on the press for further information.
The Education Committee informed that there will be training for new members from September 25-27. This training is open to any Thai person who wishes more knowledge of the Real Estate sector.
The treasurer was happy to report that all members were now paid up and that REBA – ES is once again writing figures in black.
Once again Mark from the professional standards committee received a round of applause as he announced that he was completing a whole new section for the rules and regulations regarding the arbitration process, so any real estate company or member of the public can be given guidelines on how to process a complaint against a local estate agent.
