The next Pattaya City Expats Club
(PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, Sept 20 and everyone is warmly welcome
to attend. The club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s
Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid
Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast
available from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Each week the PCEC has an interesting
speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. The
scheduled speaker this week is Gary Brown who will be talking about the
different fruits of Thailand. This talk will be followed by the ever-lively
and often humorous Open Forum and an update on the happenings in and around

For the past 28 years the Samaritans
of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention
services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English
Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the
expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention
will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of

A BCCT Networking Evening on the
Eastern Seaboard will be held on Friday September 18 from 6.30 p.m. at

Dr. Giuseppe Mario Saccone, a
lecturer from Asian University, will hold a special talk at the North Star
Library in Pattaya on September 24 starting at 3 p.m. The topic for this
month will be “The Art of Rhetoric” in which a variety of means of
persuasion, including self-presentation, manipulation of the audience,
emotional appeals and the use of figures of speech will be covered.

The Dragon Bike Party will take

raised and charitable donations will go towards Panyanugool School for the
