The Jesters Care4Kids
Charity Drive 2009 is urgently looking for people to donate their old
books for the bookstall at this year’s Charity Drive Fair at the Diana
Driving Range and Resort on Sunday, September 13. Books can be dropped off
at Tropical Bert’s on the corner of 2nd Road and Soi 6; Tahitian Queen Rock
‘n’ Roll Bar, corner of Soi 13 and Beach Road; Jameson’s next door to Nova
Park, or the Pattaya Mail office.

The next Pattaya City
Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, Sept 6 and everyone is
warmly welcome to attend. The club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J.
Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari
Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet
breakfast available from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Each week the PCEC has an
interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal
setting. The scheduled speaker this week is author Sam Fang who will be
giving insights into the majestic Thai elephant. This talk will be followed
by the ever-lively and often humorous Open Forum and an update on the
happenings in and around Pattaya. A full report appears each week in

For the past 28 years the
Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis
intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit,
Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to
provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained
in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic
listening services on the phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous

The next Luncheon of Skål
International Pattaya & East Thailand will take place on Thursday,
September 17 at the Siam Bayshore Hotel Pattaya. The guest speaker for the
event will be Patchareeboon Sakulpitakphon the program officer of ECPAT (End
Child Prostitution and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes). The
board meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and will take place at the Chang Noi
Meeting Room. The Skål Luncheon will commence at 12 o’clock (noon) at the
