Dr. Kamaljit Singh has returned to Pattaya and practices at his small clinic near the Memorial Hospital (parking facility). Clubs & Associations

The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, February 24. The Club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 am with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11am. Everyone is warmly welcome. This week the PCEC welcomes back Art from Donate who will demonstrate the latest GPS units for both vehicle and hand held use which now include some very impressive enhancements. This will be followed by the ever lively Open Forum and update on happenings in and around Pattaya. A full report appears each week in Pattaya Mail. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. The Royal British Legion Thailand is now firmly established at Tropical Bert’s 2nd Road next to Soi 6/1. We are now approaching 70 members, why don’t you become No 70? Served in H.M. Armed Forces? Or even if you have not, as long as you support the principles of the Legion you are welcome to join. We meet every Sunday lunch from 1pm, our future trips are April 24th a two day trip to the River Kwai for ANZAC Day (Aussies and Kiwis welcome) and early June a week in Batu Gajah, Malaysia, once again to meet up with our Aussie friends and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Malay Emergency. Events

Monday, February 25, the Pattaya Gay Festival will be holding their opening ‘Tribute to the Stars’ Street Party in Boystown, Pattaya. The show will feature a host of guest artists including the popular Toi and ‘El Duo’. There will also be a great lucky draw with some fantastic prizes. The street opens at 8pm with the party starting at 9.30pm. Tickets are only 300 baht with 150 baht of the ticket price going to PGF charities. Businesses have also agreed to donate 10% of all food and beverage sales to PGF.

Asian University is holding a mini film festival on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 February starting 7pm. Both evenings are expected to last about two hours and the programmes include screenings of six short films on the Wednesday and two award winning full-length films on the Thursday. Edward Delos Santos Cabagnot, an award-winning lecturer from the Filipino Cultural Centre whose expertise is in Asian cinema will be the guest attendee. Entry to both the evening events is free. The Regent’s School International Day 2008 will take place from 11am - 4pm on Saturday March 8 at The Regent’s School, Highway 36: The day will be a celebration of internationalism and the community. Over 43 different countries will be represented to visit and collect passport stamps and take part in an amazing race and World Cup football. There will also be an international cafe + BBQ, national performances and a parade of nations. All the money raised from the event will go to support the Round Square service projects.
