Dusit Thani Pattaya, represented by the hotel’s Green Leaf committee president, Prawes Akanimart (left) recently received the “Smoke-Free Hotel” gold certificate from Dr. Suwit Yodmanee (right), Minister of Tourism and Sports, at Radisson Hotel Bangkok. The gold certificate is awarded to hotels that can manage to allocate more than 75% of the hotel’s total room inventory for non-smoking guests. The Smoke-Free Hotel is a project of Green Leaf Foundation and six other government and private organizations in Thailand.


 

The Thai Hotels Association-Eastern Chapter (THA-EC), led by its president Chatchawal Suphachayanont recently spearheaded the association’s board and members meeting at Dusit Thani Pattaya. The Building Control Act was discussed, plus the success of Pattaya Bartender 2007 and THA-EC Sports Day 2007. President Chatchawal also informed members about details of ITB 2008 and WTM 2008.


 

Raimon Land CEO Nigel Cornick (left) announced his support of the Royal Over-Seas League’s (ROSL) Young Artist of Thailand competition which is open to young artists age between 12 and 20 years, nominated by their schools or university. (2nd left to right) ROSL Vice Chairman Vincent Swift, Harrow International School Head Master Dr. Mark Hensman and ROSL Chairman John Pawson joined in this remarkable press conference. The exhibition of the finalists will take place November 29-30 at Siam Paragon while the winner of the competition will travel to London to exhibit their work amongst accomplished artists from around the world of similar caliber.


Soho Square Pattaya recently held a meeting among all the stakeholders of the project at the Grand Solé Hotel to announce the regulations and the procedures for opening of the latest shopping scene on Walking Street. Situated on a 10,000 square meter area, this entertainment complex will begin to serve the city from November 30 onwards.
