Thai AirAsia recently launched flights between Bangkok and Langkawi, the airline’s 10th international destination, with flights every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

On this auspicious occasion Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, (left) the CEO of Thai AirAsia exchanged gift of appreciations with YAB Dato’ Seri Mahdzir bin Khalid, the chief minister of Kedah State.
Thai Air Asia is now working closely with Langkawi’s tourism office to publicize the island’s many attractions.

“By servicing direct flights between Bangkok and Langkawi, The airline brings in more Thai and other nationalities to the island, which will definitely bring in revenues to the local industries”, said YAB Dato’ Seri Mahdzir bin Khalid, the chief minister of Kedah state.

“We have chosen Langkawi because of its popularity with Thai and foreign tourists”, said the CEO of Thai AirAsia.
Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, the CEO of Thai AirAsia added to the reporters during the press conference held in Langkawi, “We have started the Bangkok-Langkawi route with three flights per week, but there is the potential to increase the flights to daily within six months. Langkawi was chosen because of its popularity with Thai and foreign tourists. Millions of tourists who visit Bangkok every year go on to visit neighboring cities and Langkawi is among their most popular choices.”
Next week Pattaya Mail will feature the ‘Trip to Langkawi’ organized by Thai AirAsia and you can also tune in to PMTV this Saturday, March 17 to watch the feature ‘Langkawi, 99 Magical Island’ hosted by Tony Malhotra.
