North Star Library opens next to Pattaya Orphanage

Pattaya is to see the opening of a new privately funded library on January 21, with the official ribbon cutting for the new North Star Library to be held on Saturday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m. This exciting project is a donation from Pattaya resident, Arlette Cykman, who has generously provided not only the funds for the building, but also the books from two extensive collections, which belonged to her late mother, Vera Cykman, and her long-time friend, Maxine North.

HRH The Crown Prince opens new Royal Varuna Clubhouse

In what was a thoroughly regal affair, HRH Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn last Thursday officially opened the splendid multi-million baht new Royal Varuna Yacht Club, built on its choice seaside property at Kasetsin Beach, South Pattaya. Before an assembled crowd of ministers, Royal Thai Navy officers, Palace and Pattaya City officials, and a large number of Royal Varuna members, including a number of past club commodores, HRH the Crown Prince activated the ceremonial curtain, revealing the Varuna logo, thus officially opening the club.
