It
was festive fun when Santa and YWCA members handed out Christmas gifts to
the children.
The highlight of the YWCA’s school program this month
was a surprise visit from Santa Claus as Nitaya Patimasongkroh, YWCA
president, Bernie Tuppin, charity chairman for the PSC, Peter Thorand, past
president of the Rotary Club of Taksin Pattaya and other Rotary Club members
provided lunch for the students and teachers of the Waluwonaram School.
Nitaya said that the regular lunch program, in
association with the PSC was a special event because of Santa’s visit to
the children.
The
children enjoyed lunch and playing with their surprise presents.
More than 90 children were treated to a festive lunch as
Santa strolled in, handing out gifts to the kids, assisted by Rotarians, an
event enjoyed by all who took part.
Peter Thorand said that the true joy was in seeing the
children, “We are addicted to the big eyes and the big smiles of the
kids.”
The lunch program is part of the YWCA’s Warm family
project to provide lunch and scholarships to the region’s children.
Located in Banglamung, Waluwonaram School has a total of 90 students and
five full-time teachers, with the majority of the children coming from
low-income families.
Fun day for the Orphanage children at the Amari Orchid Resort
The management and staff of the Amari Orchid Resort recently hosted group
of 100 kids from the Pattaya Orphanage Home, treating children of different
ages to a fun outing and Christmas buffet lunch.
Future
Tiger Woods? One of the activities the elder children enjoyed at the Amari
Orchid Resort’s lower garden. Even Santa Claus was impressed enough to
watch the display.
The elder generation mostly swam in the pool and played
mini-golf, while the Amari’s team looked after the smaller kids.
Orapin
Musiknavabutr and Michael Goetz, executive assistant managers, gave a warm
welcome to the orphans.
In the afternoon everyone took a seat under the trees in
the garden and enjoyed lunch, followed by desserts.
In an hour they all disappeared around resort again,
playing different games. Dominik Stamm, general manager and Michael Goetz,
executive assistant manager, made ice cream while Amari’s team ran after
children offering fruits and desserts.
The happiness was seen on their faces all through the day, but the day
eventually came to an end and the little guests had to go back home. As a
thank you note, the children sang a Merry Christmas song with such fervor in
their voices, passersby could not pass by without listening.

Busy Santa pays a visit to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital
Suchada Tupchai
Patients at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital received a
pleasant surprise when Santa Claus, with the aid of some very lovely
helpers, made a special trip to Pattaya to hand plenty of goodies to
visitors, patients and especially the children.
Santa,
doing what he does best, handed gifts to all the good children.
Santa pranced through the wards handing out sweets and
gifts to all who crossed his path. The children’s faces in the wards lit
up with joy as the big man in red greeted each every one of them.
The
Trill Band performed Christmas carols for all to enjoy.
Once Santa made his rounds, the Trill Band entertained
everyone with Christmas carols and festive music.
Neera Srisampan, assistant director I/C International Department said
that Santa’s visit brings joy to patients and visitor alike. It is just
one of the many activities that the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital does to ensure
all those within their walls are taken care of, physically and otherwise.
