Clubs

Pattaya City Expats Club meets on Sunday mornings at Henry J Beans Restaurant and Pub at the Amari Orchid Resort at the North End of Beach Road from 9.30-10.30 for buffet breakfast and from 10.30-12.30 for entertaining speakers and open forum. Everyone welcome.

Pattaya Motorcycle Club. Are you a motorcycle enthusiast who wants to meet, socialize and ride with other motorcycle enthusiasts, no matter what nationality you are and what motorcycle you ride? Got a wife or girlfriend who would like to join you for a ride rather than sit at home while you go “out with the boys?” Come along and meet other members of the Pattaya Motorcycle Club at the “Old Speckled Hen” pub, Jomtien Beach Road Soi 9, on any Friday at 8 p.m. With weekly rides to some of Chonburi and Rayong’s beautiful temples, lakes and beaches, and monthly 2 or 3 day trips to, well, anywhere we want! Dining

Richard and his team at Amor are preparing a fantastic Thanksgiving Dinner for the American Thanksgiving on Thursday November 27. There will be two sittings; 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Reservations highly recommended. As usual, it is family style service, which means that the waiters will come to your table with platters full of all the main course dishes and you can help yourself to as much as you want of everything. And they return as many times as you want! So don’t eat for a few days (or weeks!) before this dinner. The meal starts with a New England Clam Chowder, followed by roast turkey, sage & onion stuffing, giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, brandied orange sweet potatoes, fresh vegetables, followed by home made pumpkin pie and tea or coffee. Game is still in Season and due to high demand, Hans at the Paradise Restaurant extends the game promotion throughout November. Items on the special menu include: deer fillet “hunter’s style”, venison steak, wild boar stew “Swiss style” and venison stew. But that’s not all! Hans also offers a selection of game fish such as blue marlin steak “Mexican”, swordfish steak and “ahi” tuna steak “Japanese style”. For those who look for some thing really different, the Paradise Restaurant is Pattaya’s first and only casual dining restaurant specializing in exotic food, including ostrich, kangaroo, emu, crocodile and deer, a dining experience you won’t regret and forget. The Paradise Cafe and Grill also offers guests a vegetarian menu and for the youngsters there is a kids’ menu. Shenanigans Pattaya now has a New A La Carte Menu, with many new items + all the usual weekly specials, including the Wednesday steak special of a large bowl of home made soup, 400 gram t-bone steak, a mound of chips and salad served with homemade bread and butter all for 195 baht. Education

Art Classes at Art Cafe’s ‘Art Factory’ from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday afternoon. Art techniques include object coloring, pencil, water and pastel painting, engraving and others. Lessons will be given by Miss Beau, a talented Pattaya artist. All working materials as well as ‘high tea’ and refreshments are included for 280 baht per child, spoken languages are English and Thai. After class activities include fun and games at the poolside, in the big garden or at Wongamat Beach. Art Cafe now also offers art classes for children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday till Friday during the mid term break, which will include all working materials as well as a lunch. Entertainment

Another great weekend of Sport, Food and Drink at the Queen Victoria Inn (Soi Yodsak 6). Saturday sees the first of the Rugby quarter finals followed at 1925 by Wolverhampton vs. Birmingham, Saturday is of course also spit roast day, chicken, pork ribs, baked potato and salad - all u can eat for only 190 baht. Sunday is the second quarterfinals day in rugby when of course England play Wales at 5 p.m. followed at 7:25 p.m. by Liverpool vs. Manchester Utd plus of course the Full Roast Carvery at only 290 baht. So all in all a great weekend looms all washed down with plenty of draught Guinness at only 160 baht per pint. Soon in The Queen Vic Indian curries British style, just like you would get in the curry shop at home!

Rugby World Cup - On Sunday November 9 at 5 p.m., Shenanigans Pattaya will be showing the rugby world cup quarterfinal game, England vs. Wales, live on the big screen and on four other TVs. From kick-off until the first points are scored by England, all customers who have bought a glass of Guinness will get free refills. Thereafter, all customers will get a free Guinness world cup rugby jersey, or hat, for every three pints of Guinness bought until stocks run out.
