Twenty representatives from the Association of Filipinos in Thailand - Eastern Region Chapter (AFT-ERC), led by president Virginia D. Sorensen, and the Norway group gave donations and held a dinner on Valentine’s Day for the children at Ban Jing Jai in Soi Nernplubwan, Central Pattaya.

This little one surely enjoyed her Valentine’s Day.

The association members brought the meals for the children with them and made donations such as rice, student uniforms, books, gifts and toys.

The party area was lavishly decorated with red balloons and red roses. Members played games with the 45 boys and girls, which created lots of fun and laughter. The day concluded with an expression of gratitude to the AFT-ERC.

The Ban Jing Jai project originated as the Children and Youth Development Project under the supervision of the Church of Christ in Thailand.

The objective of this project is to provide assistance to children and youths in the Pattaya area that are at risk of being exposed to prostitution and drugs. Many of these children are underprivileged, street children and/or HIV infected.

The Association of Filipinos in Thailand - Eastern Region Chapter (AFT-ERC), led by president Virginia D. Sorensen, and a group of friends from Norway held a Valentine’s Day dinner for the children at Ban Jing Jai in Central Pattaya.

The project strives to fulfill the dreams and future of these children by providing shelter, education and skills development in order for them to be able to return to live in society as productive members of their community.

“Jing jai” in the Thai language means ‘sincerity’. The Jing Jai Home currently provides assistance and shelter for about 45 children. These kids receive counseling, encouragement, love and care from the house parents. The home provides training to develop social and vocational skills and finds places for them in the public school system.

If you would like to support these children and receive addition information on the project please contact: Ban Jing Jai, tel. 038-420 100 or fax 038-420 021.
