GTCC holds first ‘Stammtisch’ in the New Year
The Thai-German Chamber of Commerce invited its members
for a typical Stammtisch held at the Moon River Pub at the Thai Garden
Resort. These meetings are held in Pattaya on the second Friday every two
months - those months with the uneven days.

Joyce Eikelberg.
René Pisters, the hotel’s general manager,
distributed a glass of free champagne for all the guests in order to wish
them a happy New Year. After all guests arrived, Stefan Buerkle of the
chamber went on stage to welcome all and gave a short speech.
The many guests felt at home at the pub and enjoyed the
cozy atmosphere, the good food and the company of their friends.

German Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Dr Frank Roesler, president of the BMW
Group Thailand.
As usual many different people joined the Stammtisch;
business people, lawyers, factory owners, experts and Asian lovers. Name
cards were exchanged, old friends welcomed and new ones made.
Sometimes it is much easier to start a business
connection in an easy atmosphere like this then in a sterile office. There
was no dress code to make them feel uncomfortable, because at the Stammtisch
neckties are the exception. Leaders in the German businesses community like
to meet casually in this famous pub and restaurant.
Besides all the interesting talks the guest had, they were entertained
with very good music. “Action Dot Com” the Filipino house band at the
Moon River Pub played foot-tapping pop music at its best and many were
enticed out onto the dance floor.
