The United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (UN
DPKO) Training & Evaluation Service, in cooperation with the Royal Thai
Government, held a Standardized Generic Training Modules Seminar, a weeklong
event designed to engage trainers in discussion on what they believe are the
basic training requirements for military and civilian police personnel serving
as part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission. Forty-five representatives
from the militaries and civilian police forces of 22 nations took part in the
seminar at the Dusit Resort Pattaya Hotel. Photo shows: (Seated first

In Town Hotel welcomed Dr. Kitipong Kitayarak, director general of the
department of probation; Ministry of Justice, who was the guest of honor at the
Press Tour Seminar on the topic of “The direction of probation work in the
next decade”. The seminar introduced strategies to improve probation work
regarding correction and rehabilitation of drug addicts. Those who attended the
seminar included university professors, management from the Department of
Probation, personnel from the Drugs Prevention and Suppression Center Royal Thai
Navy, members of the “Strong Community” project and members of the media.

The Environmental Preservation Association of
the Petrol Industrial Sector at Sriracha organized an “Oil Spill Dispersant”
meeting attended by members and representative from various government and
private groups involved to emphasize and build understanding of product usage
and enhance cooperation between government and private sector. Aphinand
Supatrabudhr, quality and product control manager of Thai Oil Co. Ltd
presided over the meeting.
