Clubs

Dance and Lifestyle Club for Couples in the Pattaya area. There is no fee to join and the club is for couples and by couples only. From time to time, if there is enough interest the club will also organize carefree, castaway trips for couples to a remote island off the Trat coast. If interested, please contact 1500 page 272252. How’s your Samba? Or perhaps you’d like to strut the Lambada? At the Moon River Pub for the next few weeks you have the opportunity to listen to, and dance along with, the Troppi Karibe Band, a new six piece Latin group.

May “Mardi Gras” Madness at Planet Rock. Mardi Gras in May? And in Pattaya? You better believe it! The number one night spot in Pattaya, Planet Rock, located on Pattayaland 2 in South Pattaya celebrates its own unique version of a New Orleans style of Mardi Gras on Wednesday night, May 9, from 11 p.m. onwards, with a carnival of fun and frolic including a parade around town with stilt walkers and lavishly dressed performers all ending-up at Planet Rock for a night of exciting Mardi Gras shows, games and parties.

If you like up-tempo blues, visit the Blues Factory on Walking Street opposite the Marine Bar. Greg Caro and his seven-piece band should not be missed after 9 p.m.

Events

The next event on the Pattaya Gay Festival is the BBQ and Games Night on Saturday April 28 at Tui’s Place in Jomtien Beach, co-sponsored by Tui’s Place and by Throb Nightclub. Volleyball games are scheduled to start in the morning, and are expected to continue through much of the day. The barbecue dinner starts at 7:30 p.m., followed by stage performances by many local groups.

This weekend at Shenanigans we have a great Friday the 27th lined up. During the day there will be the now famous 3rd Annual Funhill Cup Golf Tournament at Eastern Star Resort, where the emphasis is on the Fun, rather than the Cup. Prize giving will be at 5.00 p.m. at Shenanigans. Following this will be the British Chamber of Commerce’s Pub Night sponsored by Global Silverhawk Sante Fee starting at 6.30 p.m. with free bar snacks, with Carlsberg Draught, Red & White Wine Jameson’s Irish Whisky sponsored by Global Silverhawk. Then at 10.00 p.m. Pops Pattaya All Stars take to the stage followed by Rick & Harpic, and then a mighty Pattaya Jam band until the wee hours of the morning.

Sports

The Chinese have been practicing Tai Chi as a fitness exercise for over 3000 years because of the wonderful sense of well being it gives them. Tai Chi is beneficial to the whole person, relaxing the mind as well as the body. Dusit Resort Sports Club hosts a regular Tai Chi program for all interested people. Tai Chi has no age, gender, work, status or language barriers. Classes are free for members and 100 baht for non-members. All are welcome to come along - Monday 7:45 p.m., Tuesday & Sunday 11 a.m.
