Events

Join staff at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok watch the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. To celebrate the start of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the Australian Embassy will screen the opening ceremony on a large Panasonic monitor in the Embassy grounds. There will be special games with prizes for children, as well as raffles for adults. The winner of the ‘lucky door prize’ will be given the honour of lighting a replica Olympic torch. Australian Embassy staff will also run their own mini-Olympic events. Food, soft drinks and beer will be available for purchase. Wear your sporting gear, bring flags, paint your face, have fun! Friday 15th September beginning at 5.30 p.m. in the main courtyard of the Australian Embassy, 37 South Sathorn Road, Bangkok. The event is being supported by Panasonic, Coca Cola, Fosters and McDonalds, official sponsors of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. All welcome. No booking necessary. Just come along!
