Events

The people of Pattaya present: Thai Elephant Extravaganza in honor of His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday. This grand parade starts on Saturday the 27th at 1:00 p.m. and the parade will go from the Dolphin Circle in North Pattaya, along Beach Road and end at Walking Street. Be thrilled by the grandure of 72 gigantic elephants. Exciting elephant rides are available for 250 baht and elephant food can be bought throughout the route.

The International School Eastern Seaboard has a lot of activities going on. On Tuesday, December 2nd, the ISE Concert Wind Band will perform at the fountain of the Royal Garden Plaza from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday December 7th and Wednesday December 8th, the Middle School production SMIKE, a musical setting at ISE High School will be performed in an open air quadrangle of the school. Happy Family Hour every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at BJ’s Restaurant on the corner of Beach Road/Sri Nakorn Center. These special events are held to further the cause of harmony, understanding and charity!

Exhibition

Starting November 27th and running until December 5th, master woodcarver Petch Viriya will be showing his work at the “Wooden Elephant Exhibition” in the Royal Garden Resort’s lobby. This master craftsman has developed a worldwide reputation for his Elephant sculptures, portraying natural acts and in painstaking detail. Many of his works will be on sale, and a special auction will be held with the proceeds going to support the “Friends of Asian Elephant” Foundation, which helps to preserve Thailand’s symbolic animal.

The last Amazing Thailand Sale this year will be held in shops all over the Royal Garden Plaza from November 15th until December 15th combined with a Fashion Summer Sale on the ground floor. Just in time for the Christmas shopping spree!

Semi Annual Fair at Phu Luang Garden, featuring the Rayong Ladies Circle Funfest ’99 on November 27th/28th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A variety of delicious food, special baked goodies, music, games for the kids, fun for the whole family and a shopping paradise awaits! Christmas decorations and gifts, toys, gems and jewelry, terra cotta, ceramics, mud mee silks, hand-stitched quilts and hand-knitted tops are available amongst much, much more. The ISE Concert Wind Band and the ISE Elementary Chorus will be performing there as well on November 27th. Also, a second-hand sale with all proceeds going to a local school’s education fund. Captain’s Corner Restaurant has added another 60 seats to its outdoor restaurant and can now accommodate 150 dining guests.
