Beaten tourist in critical condition

Floyd Friese, a 56 year old American tourist who had apparently been in the habit of bringing young men to his room, was found by police beaten and in critical condition.
Friese was found in his room at the Sarin Hotel in South Pattaya with his hands tied behind his back. He had been struck repeatedly with a blunt object and had many wounds including a broken nose. He was rushed to Pattaya Memorial Hospital and had to be put into the ICU unit due to a subdural hematoma. He still cannot give testimony to police.
Friese’s hotel room was ransacked and there were signs of a struggle. Officers do not know yet if any valuables were taken.
Hotel employees told police that before the incident, two 20-25 year old, neatly dressed Thai men had come to visit Friese in his room at about 3:00 am. They asked hotel employees if Friese was in, and the staff, suspecting nothing, allowed them up to his room. After about 30 minutes, hotel staff received a call from the adjoining room saying that they heard cries for help from Friese’s room. The two men had disappeared.
Police suspect that the men were prostitutes who knew Friese and planned to rob him. Police now have some clues as to who the men were and are looking for them.
