The recent long holiday weekend in Thailand gave many people a
chance to travel with their families and loved ones to tourist destinations,
either abroad or within the Kingdom. Pattaya was one of those destinations
visited by many tourists, as witnessed by the worsening traffic congestion
in the city and which may have led to many local residents wishing to flee
to other places.
However, one of the good things about a long holiday weekend is that it
normally benefits the local tourism related businesses, one of which is the
Spa Cenvaree at the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya, a venue which
has a great number of loyal fans and pre-booking is essential prior to a
visit.

A guest tries out the signature Salt Pot Muscle
Melter treatment at Spa Cenvaree.
Spa Cenvaree is located separately from the hotel, thus providing complete
privacy to spa-goers and I could tell right from the beginning of my visit
that the spa would be as excellent as its many fans claim. Its whole
surroundings and facilities were decorated meticulously in a cordial
atmosphere, and combined with friendly service from the staff members it
creates a healthy balance for clients under the spa’s “In Love with Life”
concept.
After I had finished taking photos of the picturesque surroundings I was
invited into a rather luxurious change room, which came with its own
middle-size plunge pool in the center and a wardrobe at one corner. Once I
had changed my clothes I was brought to a nicely decorated massage room
where all the products used for the therapy were lined up tidily. My feet
were then cleansed with warm herbal water before we began.
The massage that Spa Cenvaree presented to me that day was their signature
treatment – the Salt Pot Muscles Melter - which is a Thai traditional
therapy applied in the old days to mothers during the postnatal care period.
At present, however, the therapy has become widely used because it can
provide benefits not only to mothers, but also to those who want to firm up
their body, revitalize skin, reduce stomach fat, or just relax tense, sore
muscles.

The Salt Pot treatment is a traditional Thai
therapy that provides many health benefits to the body.
The therapy involves streaming along the body a small uncoated terracotta
pot filled salt and Thai herbs and wrapped with white clot to prevent excess
heat. Spa Cenvaree uniquely combines the hot compress massage with an aroma
massage designed specially to release tension in the shoulders and lower
back muscles. Besides aiding blood circulation, the heat also allow
therapeutic oils such as petitgrain, eucalyptus and lavender with their
medicinal properties to penetrate deeply into muscle tissues. I was
impressed with the skill of the therapist who massaged me and mindfully took
care to apply the pot with the right temperature throughout the treatment.

One of the luxurious treatment rooms at the spa.
Next up was the Anti-Aging facial therapy that employed Jurlique products
from Australia that provide dehydrated and nutrient deprived skin with
antioxidants derived from carrot root extract, evening primrose and
calendula. This facial improves skin firmness, minimizes pore size and
leaves skin looking radiant. The finishing touch included a wrinkle
softening cream to soften the appearance of fine lines.
Both the Signature Salt Pot Muscles Melter and the Anti-Aging treatments are
reasonably priced at 2,348 each and until the end of July there is a
promotion on A Taste of Thai “Tom Yum Therapy” for 2,995+ baht. For more
information and reservation call the Spa Cenvaree Centara Grand Mirage Beach
