Souped-up beds dash down Beach Road

They didn’t win the race, but the Pullman Pattaya Hotel G team did win the most colorful costume trophy in this year’s running of the Pattaya Bed Race. Organized by the Rotary Club of Pattaya, for the 5th straight year a convoy of decorated “beds” raced along Beach Road, much to the amusement of the thousands of tourists who lined the streets to watch.

Pattaya, Qingdao ink sister-city agreement

Pattaya officials have formalized their ties to the Chinese city of Qingdao, signing a cooperative agreement in advance of next year’s World Plant Expo.

The Royal Thai Navy has built a new home for a Sattahip-based marine who lost both legs when a bomb went off during a patrol in Thailand’s restive south.

Café Kronborg won all four points from VFW Post 9876 with Kran Nielsen leading the way with games of 248, 192 and 186 for a great 626 series. Nok Ostbo bowled a 500 game for Kronborg.
