More than 50 women learned decoupage and pineapple carving as the
Pattaya Women’s Development Group offered occupational training to
members.
Group President Naowarat Khakhay hosted the Dec. 4 meeting at Pattaya
City Hall where members learned the art of decorating the surface of
objects with paper, as well as pineapple carving. Lectures were provided
by Pak Nam Krasare of Rayong and pineapple-crafts experts from Panthong.
The group’s idea was that members could create products that can be
marketed through city hall’s proposed “Pattaya brand” program, which
seeks to market unique, locally made items from the city’s 38
communities.
The Pattaya Women’s Development Group was formed to develop Pattaya
women gain knowledge and skills to be self-dependent, founders said.
