The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, June 28. Everyone is warmly welcome. PCEC member Darrel Vaught will be speaking about an online service for ordering home delivery from over 100 Pattaya restaurants including a few pointers in using the service. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

A special fundraising party will be held at the Kik Bar on Soi Khao Talo on the evening of Friday, June 26. Sponsored by Kik Bar, La Grotto Pizzeria and Pepper & Salt Restaurant, the event will include free food from 7.30pm. All proceeds will go to help improve the lives of local street dogs. An Indian Classical and Fusion music concert will be held at the Siam Bayshore Hotel, Pattaya on Sunday, June 28, starting at 7.30 p.m. In a program of sitar and vocal music one of the big names in Indian classical music, Purbayan Chatterjee, will be joined by sonorous vocalist, Joyeta Choudhury. They will be accompanied on tabla by Rupak Battacharjee, one of the finest tabla players of the younger generation. Tickets cost 500 baht and are available from the reception of the Siam Bayshore Hotel. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will be given to the Princess Sirindhorn Chulalongkorn Craniofacial Center, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, and the Thai Red Cross Society. The annual Canada Day celebrations will be held at the NIST International School in Bangkok on Saturday, June 27. The event will feature children’s games, tug-of-war, and various sporting activities for adults, including the ever-popular ball hockey tournament. A buffet dinner will be served following the afternoon activities with the Canadian Embassy bringing in Canadian beef and salmon. Plenty of ice cold Canadian beer, Canadian wines and the ever popular Bloody Caesar will be made available for the occasion. Pattaya Soul Club presents another Souled Out evening, playing the very best of Northern, Motown and Soul music on Saturday, July 11 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Access on Pattaya Third Road. The Pattaya International Ladies Club will be hosting an evening of music with the Salaya Chamber Orchestra at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the Ballroom of the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort in north Pattaya. The 2015 King’s Cup Pattaya City Marathon will take place on the morning of Sunday, July 19, with the runners setting off from a start point outside the Central Festival Pattaya Beach shopping mall. The event will incorporate a full marathon of 42.195km, a half marathon (21.1km), quarter marathon (10.55km), a wheelchair quarter marathon (10.55km) and a micro marathon (fun run) of 3km. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
