The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, June 21. Everyone is warmly welcome. Australian Dr. Peter Lewis will talk about prevention of osteoarthritis and how to relieve the pain. The Martial Arts Games Grand Championships are currently being held in Pattaya from June 11-23. A special fundraising party will be held at the Kik Bar on Soi Khao Talo on the evening of Friday, June 26. An Indian Classical and Fusion music concert will be held at the Siam Bayshore Hotel, Pattaya on Sunday, June 28, starting at 7.30 p.m. In a program of sitar and vocal music one of the big names in Indian classical music, Purbayan Chatterjee, will be joined by sonorous vocalist, Joyeta Choudhury. They will be accompanied on tabla by Rupak Battacharjee, one of the finest tabla players of the younger generation. The annual Canada Day celebrations will be held at the NIST International School in Bangkok on Saturday, June 27. The event will feature children’s games, tug-of-war, and various sporting activities for adults, including the ever-popular ball hockey tournament. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community.
