TRAT, 7 August 2011 -The Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tak Office, has led a team of hotel and resort operators to Trat province in an attempt to boost tourism in their province in a tourism road show.

The purpose of this event is not only to promote tourism in the northern province of Tak but also to raise incomes for local people. Director of the TAT Office in Tak, Ms. Neenat Polwatit said this was a good opportunity for the tourism industry from both provinces to exchange ideas and information regarding the tourism business.

She hoped that this would attract tourists from the Eastern region to Tak given that there were direct bus services between the two provinces, with no need for anybody to drive a long distance to get to the northern province.

Ms. Neenat said besides the Thi Lo Su waterfall and white water rafting, Tak also had beautiful national parks, temples and the famous Chinese community. The province is also known for its spectacular Krathong Sai flating which takes place after the Buddhist Lent has come to an end.
