Crowds in Jomtien Beach were on the lookout for Capt. Jack Sparrow after what appeared to be a pirate ship anchored offshore.

The 44-meter “Thai Phan Noi” dropped anchor off Pattaya Dec. 27, allowing its 100 tourist passengers to come ashore in search of their own personal treasure.

The Thai hardwood boat, operated by Pirates of Pattaya, takes tourists on cruises around Pattaya’s islands for 1,900 baht per person. The 150-ton vessel offers four restrooms, shower, air-conditioned family room, bar, dining and a disco floor.

Thai Phan Noi docked in Jomtien because it wants to attract customers and advertise the boat, crewmembers said. Many of the initial customers are Russian groups.

Very limited information about the ship is available online at PiratesOfPattaya.com.
