PHUKET, Thailand – Phuket authorities have introduced support measures to assist tourists affected by recent flight disruptions linked to regional tensions in the Middle East. Governor Nirat Pongsitthaworn, in coordination with the Phuket Tourism Association and the Thai Hotels Association’s Southern Chapter, has called on hotels and tourism operators to provide assistance for travelers facing delays or cancellations on inbound and outbound routes.

Under the measures, hotels are encouraged to waive rescheduling fees for affected guests and cancel booking charges when necessary. Operators are also asked to offer special rates for extended stays and provide updated travel information and guidance to help visitors adjust their travel plans.

Local tourism leaders said the coordinated response has been initiated to help ease the impact on visitors while maintaining confidence in Phuket as an international destination. The move ensures travelers receive timely support and remain secure during their stay on the island. (NNT)
