Kanchanaburi signed sister city agreement Yi Liangshan of China

BANGKOK, 12 March 2012  – The western province of Kanchanaburi has signed a cooperative agreement of sister city with China’s Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.

On Wednesday, Mr. Kartpol Kaewprapan, Chief of the Kanchanaburi Provincial Office, and Mr. Yao Yun Cheng, Director of Foreign Affairs – Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, signed a Letter of Intent that declares both towns as sister cities.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Kanchanaburi Governor Chaiwat Limwattana and related officials as well as the delegate from Liangshan Yi.

The official establishment of sister city relation between the two cities marks the beginning of further collaboration in various areas, from tourism to agriculture, commerce, education, public health and culture.
