Yala increases security at city entrance

YALA 12 June 2014  — Officials stationed in Yala city have increased their security in order to carry out more comprehensive checks of those entering the city center.

Rangers stationed at the city’s entrance have been ordered to scan and record the identification details of all individuals considered suspicious.

Moreover, additional measures have been instigated to conduct more comprehensive searches and a thorough investigation of suspicious vehicles entering into the city.

The aim of the increased security is to prevent unwanted violent incidents from occurring in the province. Those traveling to Yala city have been advised to have their ID cards and necessary documents ready for inspection, to make for a convenient and quick check.
