‘Vijit @Udon Thani’ Festival celebrates Isan culture with art, music, and food, August 22–31

TAT expects over 31,000 visitors and 47.5 million baht in economic boost from free-entry event

UDON THANI, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Udon Thani province, launched the “Vijit @Udon Thani: The Charm of Isan Light and Art” festival on August 22nd, 2025. The opening ceremony was co-chaired by Mr. Krisda Tanterdtit, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports; Mr. Rachan Chunhua, Governor of Udon Thani; and Mr. Nut Krutsu, Director of the Events Department at the TAT. The event is part of the “Thailand Festival Experience” project and runs until August 31st at Queen Sirikit Maha Rajini Memorial Park.

Mr. Nut stated that the festival aims to promote domestic tourism by creatively combining Isan’s cultural identity with modern innovation and technology. He said the event is designed to create new travel inspirations, extend tourism hours into the night, and stimulate the local economy.



The festival features 11 distinct light display zones that tell the story of Isan culture, from its spiritual roots to contemporary art. In addition to the light shows, the event includes cultural performances, concerts by popular artists, and a food zone with over 35 local and popular food stalls.

The TAT anticipates that the ten-day event will attract over 31,000 visitors and generate at least 47.5 million baht in economic revenue for the area. Admission is free. (NNT)
