BANGKOK, Thailand – United States Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent has commended Thailand for its strong economic proposals at the Saudi-US Investment Forum in Riyadh on May 13. The forum involved officials and investors from both countries to strengthen trade and economic cooperation.

Bessent highlighted Thailand as one of several Asia-Pacific economies making progress in talks with the United States. He also mentioned productive discussions with Japan, Taiwan, and Indonesia, while acknowledging South Korea’s political transition ahead of national elections.



According to Bessent, the United States views the Asia-Pacific region as key to global economic growth and stability. Ongoing discussions with regional partners are expected to expand cooperation on trade, investment, and market access.

The forum in Riyadh is part of US efforts to strengthen partnerships with Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific countries. Officials are now working to boost cooperation in energy, technology, and manufacturing while promoting regional stability.
