BANGKOK, Thailand – Udon Thani province is preparing to host the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026, an international exhibition planned to welcome visitors from around the world and promote sustainable living through horticulture and environmental tourism. The event is expected to help enhance the province’s profile as a destination for global exchange on nature, agriculture, and sustainability.

The expo will be held under the theme “Diversity of Life: Connecting People, Water, and Plants for Sustainable Living,” presenting the relationship between ecosystems and communities. The venue spans more than 1,030 rai of land (about 1.65 million square meters) at the Nong Dae Wetland in Udon Thani, with a layout that integrates natural landscapes, cultural elements, and innovation.

The site is organized into six zones: a reception and visitor services area; international and organizational gardens; a greenhouse complex featuring rare plant displays and competitions; an agricultural innovation and modern technology zone; a Thai agricultural garden showcasing local knowledge; and a carbon credit forest garden supporting ecosystem restoration.

Local identity will be presented throughout the venue through symbols associated with Udon Thani, including the white-winged duck, centella plants, dendrobium orchids, and traditional Isan streamer flags. These elements convey the province’s natural resources, cultural heritage, and community lifestyle.

The Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026 will run from November 1, 2026, to March 14, 2027. Organizers expect the event to attract domestic and international visitors while promoting sustainable tourism and long-term environmental awareness. (NNT)
