U.S. signals green light for trade talks with Thailand

BANGKOK, Thailand – U.S. officials have expressed readiness to schedule trade talks with Thailand, with Deputy Prime Minister Pichai Chunhavajira leading the Thai delegation. Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Sangiampongsa revealed that the Thai Embassy in Washington had reported positive signs from the U.S. side.

American agencies are willing to coordinate with Thailand to set a date for formal negotiations. He confirmed that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Pichai Chunhavajira has been assigned by the Thai government as lead negotiator.

The Embassy has been tasked with expediting discussions to finalize the schedule promptly. The Foreign Minister expressed confidence that the talks will be fruitful, citing the long-standing alliance and strong diplomatic ties between Thailand and the United States. (NNT)
