Tourist police shows preparedness for ASEAN

BANGKOK, 20 December 2015 – Tourist police officers and volunteers have paraded through Bangkok, showing the unit’s preparedness for the upcoming integration of the ASEAN Community at year end.

The Royal Thai Police Commissioner-General Pol Gen Chaktip Chaichinda has led police executives, tourist police officers, and tourist assistance volunteers on a campaigned parade, demonstrating the preparedness of the police for the upcoming integration of ASEAN Community under the slogan “WE SAFE THAILAND SAFE”

The parade moved along the Rama I Road, through Pathumwan Intersection to Ratchaprasong Intersection in Bangkok, has been held in cooperation between the Royal Thai Police, private companies, and volunteers. This event intended to show the willingness to provide assistance to tourists and the Thai public at various major tourism destinations.

The parade involved 2,015 volunteers comprising of the general public and civil servants. The parade’s route was significant as well, passing through Bangkok’s major economic roads.
