BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued its third weather advisory, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of Thailand from October 18–25, 2026, with increased rainfall expected in Bangkok and surrounding provinces later in the week.

According to the October 18 advisory, the South and East will see continued rainfall from October 18 to 20, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain.

From October 21 to 25, rainfall is expected to increase in the lower Northeast, Central region, Bangkok and its vicinity, East, and upper South, with isolated heavy to very heavy showers and gusty winds. The latest forecast has updated the areas expected to receive very heavy rainfall. Chon Buri is the only province forecast to receive very heavy rain on October 21, while no provinces are forecast to receive very heavy rain on October 22.

Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi are forecast to receive very heavy rainfall on October 24 and 25. Bangkok and surrounding provinces remain at risk of isolated heavy rainfall from October 21 to 23.

The TMD warns that heavy rainfall may cause localized flooding, while very heavy or accumulated rainfall could trigger flash floods and runoff in vulnerable areas. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea should exercise caution, as waves may exceed three meters during thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to monitor updated weather forecasts, water levels, and local emergency announcements. (NNT)
