Thailand to commemorate King Bhumibol on Nawaminthara Maharaj Day this October 13

The public is invited to pay tribute with yellow or white flowers at King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great Memorial Park in Bangkok, with respectful conduct requested during the ceremony from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Bureau of the Royal Household invites members of the public to pay tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the anniversary of his passing, commemorated nationwide as Nawaminthara Maharaj Day, on October 13, 2025.


Citizens are encouraged to offer garlands or flowers in yellow or white tones at the King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great Memorial Park in Bangkok’s Suan Dusit District, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (except during the Royal wreath-laying ceremony).

The public is kindly asked to bring their own flowers or garlands. A designated area has been arranged on the left side of the statue of His Majesty the late King to ensure the tribute proceeds smoothly and with dignity befitting His Majesty’s honor. Authorities also urged attendees to maintain respectful behavior and proper etiquette while visiting the venue. (NNT)
