BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is supporting the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, taking place from December 9 to 20, with a series of tourism campaigns that link the excitement of the competition with travel experiences across host provinces. New tools, such as the SEA Games Travel Guide and Fan Cheer Templates, are being used to attract both domestic and international visitors and to promote Thailand as a friendly, accessible destination during the Games.

The SEA Games Travel Guide is available in two editions, covering Bangkok and Chonburi, each with QR codes linking to curated Google Maps locations. These digital guides help travelers plan visits to nearby attractions and enjoy local culture. TAT has also launched themed Instagram filters via @1672TravelBuddy to enhance fan engagement online and add a unique Thai flair to cheering on athletes.

TAT, led by Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool, has set up welcome points at Suvarnabhumi Airport and at the Opening Ceremony venue to share travel information, distribute souvenirs, and support visitors arriving for the Games. Promotional videos are also available for journalists in the Media Center, while online influencers and key opinion leaders are amplifying the atmosphere through event-related content.

The 33rd SEA Games features athletes from 11 Southeast Asian countries competing across 50 medal sports and three demonstration sports, with 574 gold medals up for grabs. The Opening Ceremony on December 9 at Rajamangala National Stadium follows the theme “WE ARE ONE,” symbolizing regional solidarity and progress.

The event offers Thailand a key opportunity to boost its position as a sports tourism destination while generating lasting economic benefits for host cities and nearby regions. (NNT)
