Exports surged nearly 23% in 2024, with Belgian demand up almost 88% — a testament to trust in Thai-made nutrition for pets worldwide.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand is now the third-largest exporter of pet food to the European Union (EU) and the fourth-largest in the world.

According to the Thai Trade Center at The Hague in the Netherlands, in 2024, Thai exports of pet food grew 22.92% year-on-year to US$3,029.30 million. The largest expansion came in exports to Belgium, which grew 87.86%, or $36.21 million. Belgium has become the third-largest importer of Thai pet food in Europe, after Italy and Germany. This reflects the confidence Europeans have in the quality of Thai pet food. In Thailand, there are over 80 factories making quality pet food; most of them are also original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for other brands. (PRD)
