
BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand continues to be a popular destination for film production from around the world, according to the statistics from the Thailand Film Office (TFO). In January 2026 alone, the country welcomed a total of 58 foreign film productions, generating over 479 million baht (approximately 15.4 million US dollars).
Below are the five countries with the highest number of productions:
- Japan—10 productions;
- South Korea—8 productions;
- China—7 productions;
- India—6 productions;
- Pakistan—5 productions.
The five countries with the highest production budgets are the following:
- U.S.A.—125 million baht (4.02 million US dollars);
- Germany—82 million baht (2.63 million US dollars);
- China—55 million baht (1.77 million US dollars);
- South Korea—44 million baht (1.41 million US dollars);
- India—42 million baht (1.35 million US dollars).
