Thai PM Anutin attends a special dinner in South Korea with President Trump and APEC leaders, highlighting regional economic cooperation and Thailand’s commitment to sustainable development and trade partnerships.

KYUNGJU, South Korea — Thai Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended a special dinner honoring U.S. President Donald Trump and APEC regional leaders. The event, hosted by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, focused on “Indo-Pacific Economic Cooperation” and aimed to strengthen economic ties across the region.

The dinner, part of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, gathered leaders from key economies including Trump, Yoon, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, New Zealand’s Christopher Luxon, Singapore’s Lawrence Wong, and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong. Before the dinner, the leaders met informally to discuss regional and economic matters, followed by a formal discussion on Indo-Pacific economic cooperation.


During the event, PM Anutin expressed gratitude to President Yoon for hosting and emphasized Thailand’s commitment to strengthening bilateral, subregional, and regional partnerships through frameworks like ASEAN, the Mekong cooperation, RCEP, and CEPA negotiations with South Korea. He also highlighted Thailand’s ongoing cooperation with the U.S. and Australia under the Mekong-U.S. Partnership and ACMECS to promote sustainable regional development.

Anutin praised the U.S. support for Thailand-Cambodia peace initiatives and highlighted ongoing trade discussions aimed at balanced benefits for both nations. He stressed the Indo-Pacific region’s high economic potential driven by hardworking populations, technological innovation, and strong connectivity, urging active U.S. involvement in three key areas:

  1. Advanced digital and AI technology collaboration to drive innovation and combat cross-border crime and online fraud.
  2. Improving business environments through fair competition, regulatory reform, and creating equal opportunities, reflecting Thailand’s intention to join the OECD.
  3. Strengthening supply chain resilience and connectivity to support a complex, interconnected global economy.

PM Anutin concluded by reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to collaborating with all regional economies to promote shared values in business, innovation, and creativity, aiming to unlock economic potential for the Indo-Pacific’s people.
