Department of Business Development promotes the “Thai Helps Thai” campaign, offering deep discounts on thousands of products at major retailers to ease Songkran expenses while supporting local businesses and SMEs nationwide.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Commerce encourages the public to purchase “Thai Helps Thai” products at major wholesale and retail outlets nationwide. Discounts of up to 58% on over 3,000 items are available to help reduce living costs during the Songkran holiday.

Director-General of the Department of Business Development Poonpong Naiyanapakorn stated that the initiative is part of urgent measures to address rising living costs, partly due to higher energy prices due to ongoing Middle East tensions. As Songkran is a peak spending period, the campaign aims to support household expenses for travel, celebrations, and daily needs.

Launched on April 1, 2026, the program is implemented in cooperation with major retailers such as Makro, Lotus’s, Big C, The Mall Group, Tops, Watsons, Foodland, 7-Eleven, and CJ More, as well as manufacturers nationwide. The campaign covers 16 product categories and offers discounts of 25% to 58%.

In addition to easing living costs, the initiative supports domestic consumption and boosts income for Thai entrepreneurs, especially SMEs and local producers. The department will rotate product offerings throughout the year and expand opportunities for community and OTOP products to enter modern trade and online platforms. The Director-General invites the public to participate in the campaign, highlighting quality, affordable goods that support domestic businesses and strengthen Thailand’s economy.
