BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has confirmed that conditions along the border with Cambodia remain stable, with army units maintaining 11 defensive positions. The Royal Thai Army continues to strengthen the frontier by installing razor wire fencing to protect national sovereignty and deter incursions.
Government Spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub reported that all seven provinces adjoining Cambodia are calm and under control. Army personnel remain firmly stationed along their defense lines while steadily expanding barriers as part of ongoing security measures.
Jirayu added that the government is prioritizing both the physical and mental health of soldiers serving at the border. Specialized Military Mental Health Crisis Assessment and Treatment Teams have been deployed to provide psychological support, while regional military hospitals are visiting operational bases to carry out health checkups and mental health evaluations for troops on the frontline.
Jirayu stated that the government continues to provide comprehensive support for military personnel, addressing both physical and mental health. He added that safeguarding soldiers’ well-being is vital to sustaining the strength, morale, and readiness of the armed forces charged with defending the nation’s sovereignty. (NNT)
