
BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa had discussions with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, and Japan’s Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi and clarified facts surrounding the Thai-Cambodian border situation.
Vietnam welcomed the ceasefire and hoped that Thailand and Cambodia would resolve the conflict and differences peacefully and avoid the use of force by international law, while Japan supported Thailand’s efforts and expressed its readiness to support efforts to resolve the issue as a friend of Thailand.
In addition, to inform the international community regarding the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs further plans to hold a site visit to the Thai-Cambodian border area for military attachés of foreign missions and members of the media on 1 August 2025 for them to observe and assess the impacts of the clashes on the ground.
