Six defendants in the collapsed SAO building case are granted bail with EM bracelets and travel restrictions while the trial continues.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Criminal Court on November 21 granted bail to six defendants in the case of the collapsed new State Audit Office (SAO) building, setting bail at 1.5 million baht each and ordering electronic monitoring (EM) bracelets. The court also prohibited them from leaving the country without permission.


The six defendants, associated with the main company and related firms, are engineers involved in the building’s design. They include Pimon (Defendant 3), Teera (Defendant 5), Supol (Defendant 6), Chainarong (Defendant 7), Apichat (Defendant 8), and Wisal (Defendant 23).

Court proceedings were held in private, with media barred from the hearing. Bail conditions include wearing EM bracelets and travel restrictions until the trial concludes.

Notably, Premchai Karnasuta (Defendant 17), executive of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited, did not request bail. (TNA)
