
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai cookbook “Sapodilla Ice Cream: From Local to Luxury” has earned first place in the ice cream category for the World’s Best Cookbooks of the Year 2024. The award ceremony was held at the 30th International Gourmand Awards 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal, and the award was received by Watcharapong Radomsittipat, former president of the Ban Mai Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Ayutthaya Province.
The book tells the story of the 100-Year Ban Mai Sapodilla Ice Cream, created from a nearly forgotten local fruit that has been reimagined as a premium dessert through innovative value addition. The ice cream is now available for anyone wanting a taste of luxury at Thong Keep Ma Café in Luang Pu Thuat Market, Ayutthaya. (PRD)
